Krk is one of the most accessible islands in the Adriatic, connected to the mainland by a majestic bridge and hosting its own international airport (RJK). However, once you arrive, reaching the start of the most spectacular trails can be a challenge without proper planning.
The Rijeka Airport (RJK) is actually located on the island of Krk, near Omišalj. It connects the island to major European cities during the summer season.
If you aren’t renting a car immediately, a pre-booked transfer is the most reliable way to reach your basecamp in Baška, Punat, or Malinska.
Krk is a large island with a rugged interior. To reach the trailheads for the Moon Plateau or the Obzova peak, having your own wheels is highly recommended.
