Day 1 of the Camino Krk hiking trail on Krk Island — a long-distance Adriatic pilgrimage route starting in historic Krk Town, weaving through olive groves to the village of Brzac.
Setting off from the historic center of Krk town, this first stage offers a perfect introduction to the island’s diverse landscapes. The trail winds past the Frankopan Castle and through ancient narrow streets before opening up into the vast, silver-green olive groves that define the island’s agriculture. As you move deeper into the Šotovento region, the path is shaded by lush, serene woodlands, eventually leading to the quiet, authentic atmosphere of Brzac.
Make sure to bring enough water and wear appropriate footwear. The trail is best experienced during spring or autumn.
The best vistas in Krk Island are far from the bus stops. Rent a car to reach the trailhead and explore at your own pace.
