Open guidehiking
A majestic Krk Island outdoor hike crossing seven peaks in the Baška karst, offering unparalleled views of the Velebit range and the Adriatic islands — one of the best trails in the Kvarner Bay.
The Vaclav’s Ridge Trail is a legendary route for hikers who crave high-altitude solitude and wide-open horizons. Crossing seven distinct peaks, this 13.5 km trail takes you through the heart of the “Baška Moonscape.”
This is a linear trail that requires around six hours of steady hiking. The path follows the natural limestone ridges, where the lack of vegetation allows for constant, 360-degree views of the Kvarner archipelago and the dramatic Velebit mountain range on the mainland.
The terrain is pure karst—uneven, sharp, and spectacular. There is no natural water on this route, making it a true wilderness experience. Proper preparation and high-quality footwear are essential.
The best vistas in Baška are far from the bus stops. Rent a car to reach the trailhead and explore at your own pace.
